Waylay: The Speed of Light Just Got a Whole Lot Faster

Waylay: The Speed of Light Just Got a Whole Lot Faster

If you were watching the VCT Masters: Bangkok grand finals, you probably witnessed something genuinely electrifying. Riot Games and Valorant just unveiled Waylay, Thailand's prismatic Radiant, and let me tell you, she's about to revolutionize the way we play Valorant.

I just checked out the reveal trailer, and I'm stoked. Waylay can transform into light and zip across the battlefield. In it was super cool to watch and likesomething out of a sci-fi movie, showcasing that she has a ton of mobility and strategy involved.

Her Abilities:

  • Refract: Imagine being able to drop a beacon of light and instantly return to it, completely invulnerable. It's like Chamber's teleport but on steroids.
  • Light Speed: This ability lets Waylay dash not once but twice, with the option to go upward on the first dash. It's going to be a nightmare for opponents trying to keep up.
  • Saturate is where things get interesting. Waylay can throw out a cluster of light that explodes and slowly apply a powerful movement and weapon. It's like Sage's slow orb but amplified.
  • Convergent Paths: This is her ultimate. She creates an afterimage, projects a beam of light, and then gets a speed boost, expanding the beam to hinder everyone in the area. It's like she's tapping into the Speed Force!

We're also getting a new skin collection called Cyrax, featuring star-forged crystals brought to life, such as Vandal, Ghost, Guardian, Stinger, and even Fanblade melee skin. And let's not forget the new Battlepass items like the Tactibear Flex and Doom Wing Phantom.

Season 2025 // Act II starts on March 5, 2025, with Cyrax available on March 6. I'm counting down the minutes until I can get my hands on Waylay and experiment with her abilities.

Valorant just raised the bar again with Waylay. Get ready for some seriously dazzling plays because the future of Valorant is looking brighter than ever!
