In the latest trailer, players get an in-depth look at the motivations driving Haroona’s quest and catch glimpses of the friends and foes she will encounter along the way. Haroona’s journey is deeply rooted in the teachings of her beloved mentor, Reika, who has guided her in mastering her unique Fold-related abilities since childhood. For years, Reika tutored Haroona on the intricacies of this other dimension, often sharing tales of enigmatic immortal figures known as the Unknown 9, said to preside over all of humanity’s knowledge.
The Catalyst of Haroona’s Quest
Tragically, Haroona's training came to an abrupt end when Vincent Lichter, the leader of the Ascendants and a former pupil of Reika, took Reika's life. Vincent believes that the Unknown 9 has prevented humanity from realizing its true potential for far too long. Committed to liberating the world from their influence, Vincent’s actions spur Haroona into action. She sets off on a perilous journey to stop him and protect humanity’s best-kept secrets from falling into the wrong hands.
A Narrative-Driven Adventure
Unknown 9: Awakening is a third-person, narrative-driven action-adventure game that follows Haroona, a Quaestor with the unique ability to venture into the Fold — a mysterious dimension that overlaps our own. As she seeks powerful hidden knowledge, Haroona must learn to master her connection to the Fold, channelling its powers into our world. However, such power does not go unnoticed. Haroona quickly becomes a target for the Ascendants, a splinter faction of the secretive Leap Year Society, who seek to use the Fold to alter the course of human history.
