Tokyo Ghoul’s Ken Kaneki Joins Dead by Daylight as The Ghoul

Dead by Daylight embraces anime horror with its latest crossover, introducing Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul as the game's newest Killer. Known as "The Ghoul," this reimagined version of Kaneki brings a dark and terrifying twist to the beloved protagonist, making his official debut on April 2, 2025. For eager fans, Kaneki is already available to test in the Steam public test build starting March 11.
In this chilling adaptation, Kaneki sheds his humanity after enduring brutal torture and succumbs to his Ghoulish instincts. Now under The Entity's control, The Ghoul uses his deadly Kagune tentacles to hunt Survivors with speed and precision. His abilities allow him to chain rapid movements across the map, creating intense chases. Successful hits activate his Enraged Mode, amplifying his strength and agility, making him one of the most kinetic and fearsome Killers in Dead by Daylight.

The crossover also introduces the Tokyo Ghoul Collection, launching alongside The Ghoul on April 2. This collection includes Legendary and Very Rare outfits inspired by characters from the anime, such as the Legendary Rize Kamishiro Outfit for The Ghoul, which lets players step into the role of Rize, whose organs transformed Kaneki into a half-Ghoul. Additionally, there are Very Rare Outfits like Touka's Rabbit Costume for Yui Kimura, Hide's Costume for Renato Lyra, Eto's Costume for Nea Karlsson, and Kaneki's Awakened Ghoul look. Players can also unlock Very Rare Masks featuring designs for Jonah Vasquez, Jake Park, David King, and The Unknown.
These cosmetics allow players to fully embrace the haunting aesthetic of Tokyo Ghoul while adding a fresh layer of customization to their gameplay. This crossover highlights Behaviour Interactive's commitment to blending pop culture with horror gaming. By transforming Kaneki into a Killer rather than a Survivor, the developers lean into Tokyo Ghoul's darker themes, delivering a unique experience for fans of both franchises.
Whether you're a long-time fan of Tokyo Ghoul or just looking for your next challenge in Dead by Daylight, this collaboration promises thrilling gameplay and an unforgettable dive into anime-inspired horror. Mark your calendars—Kaneki officially enters The Fog on April 2!
