Squeak, Solve, and Decorate: The Whimsical World of 'Squeakross' Awaits
Indie developer Alblune is set to launch a new demo for their upcoming game Squeakross: Home Squeak Home during Steam Next Fest. This charming title, which was featured in Wholesome Direct 2024, combines nonogram puzzles with interior design elements, allowing players to decorate a rodent's home by solving puzzles.

- 60 Puzzles: Players can solve various nonogram puzzles to unlock furniture and decorate their rodent's home.
- Customization Options: The Rodent Editor allows players to personalize their furry friend's appearance, including fur colour, tail style, and costumes.
- Accessibility Features: The game includes various accessibility options such as bindable controls, zoom functionality, and an 'auto count' feature.
- Difficulty Levels: While suitable for beginners, the game also offers challenges for experienced players through "Nini's Challenges," which unlocks colour variants for furniture.
Players join the "Home Squeak Home" program and meet Nini, the CEO and nonogram expert. By solving puzzles, they unlock furniture to transform their empty house into a fully decorated rodent residence. The game offers a tutorial for newcomers and an in-game manual for additional guidance.
The demo is compatible with PC, Mac, and Steam Deck. It also includes a "streamer mode" that silences copyrighted music for content creators.
Alblune, previously known for Spirit and the Mouse, plans to release the full version of Squeakross: Home Squeak Home later this year. Interested players can wishlist the game on Steam and join the Discord community for updates.
