Revenge of the Savage Planet for Early 2025 Release

The creators behind the beloved Journey to the Savage Planet, Raccoon Logic (formerly Typhoon Studios), have unveiled their latest title, Revenge of the Savage Planet, set to launch in early 2025 for PC and consoles. The game was revealed during both Opening Night Live and the Xbox Gamescom showcase, promising fans a return to the quirky, satirical universe they loved, now enhanced with new features, more planets, and a fresh third-person perspective.

An Epic Space Adventure with a Twist

In Revenge of the Savage Planet, players find themselves unceremoniously ousted from their space colonization mission. After 80 years of cryosleep, the powers that be have deemed space exploration too costly and have made you redundant. Stranded on an alien planet with only your wits and whatever you can scavenge, your mission is to explore strange new worlds, collect resources, craft gear, and ultimately find your way home.

Key Features:

  • Third-Person Online Co-Op & Crossplay: For the first time, players can experience the Savage Planet universe in third-person, with the option to play online co-op across all platforms. Whether with a friend, partner, or mortal enemy, the game offers seamless crossplay functionality.
  • Couch Co-Op with Split Screen: Relive the nostalgia of split-screen co-op, playing with a friend in the same room. This feature comes with a healthy dose of corporate satire, adding to the game's humour.
  • Explore Four Savage Planets: Populate your Kindex by exploring four vibrant and diverse worlds, each filled with unique plants, creatures, and secrets. There may be more than four planets, though... who knows what else awaits?
  • Space Action & Adventure: Engage in dynamic gameplay with a variety of mechanics, including running, jumping, shooting, sliding, and grappling. Experiment with three different types of gameplay goo—most of which are highly flammable—as you face off against alien bosses, suggestive fauna, problematic software, and perhaps even a greedy CEO.
  • Habitat & Character Customization: Customize both your character and your habitat as you uncover rewards and secrets hidden throughout each planet. Decorate your space trailer in scenic Nu Florida and make it your own.
  • Collect Alien Creatures: For those with a hoarding tendency, use your lasso to capture and collect dozens of strange creatures. Relocate them to Pens outside your space trailer and visit them whenever you like. But remember, the real enemy might not be the slimy exploding aliens but the corporate profiteers who left you stranded.

A Message from the Creators:

Alex Hutchinson, Creative Director at Raccoon Logic, shared his excitement:

“We’re beyond excited to welcome budding explorers back to the Savage Planet universe. A lot has happened since we launched the original title—both in-game and in life, with the whole studio being shuttered during a global pandemic. On the back of this, Raccoon Logic was born, and with it Revenge of the Savage Planet, which may or may not incorporate an element of the journey we all went through. The XBOX showcase today is the tip of the asteroid, and we can’t wait to show everyone the world we’ve created next year.”

A Legacy of Humor and Adventure

The original Journey to the Savage Planet captured the hearts of millions with its humorous, cooperative gameplay, earning multiple awards and critical acclaim. Raccoon Logic's Revenge of the Savage Planet aims to build on that legacy, offering an even more expansive and immersive experience.
