Opening in 1510, players start their campaign as a condottiere in the employ of a European monarch. Directed by their liege, players will travel across varying landscapes—from frozen tundra to naval passages—carving out their domain and challenging rival kings of Europe for ultimate domination. This journey naturally evolves from intense RTS battles involving thousands of men and machines to city building, management, and diplomatic negotiations.
The Renaissance marked an explosion of art, innovation, and economic growth, leading to new technology. Mirroring this expansive era, Renaissance Kingdom Wars transformed the battlefield over time, with weaponry becoming more sophisticated and deadly. Spears gave way to pikes, trebuchets evolved into cannons, and knights were replaced by cavalrymen. With gunpowder on the rise, the battlefield shifts from a medieval slaughterhouse to even bloodier horrors.
