NHL 25 Kicks Off Season 1 With 'Built Different' Theme, New Events, and Battle Pass!
NHL 25 has just dropped its highly anticipated Season 1 update, bringing with it an array of exciting content in HUT and World of CHEL modes. With fresh events, rewards, and challenges, players can dive into the game starting today, October 4, and experience the thrill of hockey like never before.
What Are NHL Seasons?
In NHL 25, seasons are in-game campaigns tied to real-world hockey events, offering timed challenges and rewards. Players can progress through HUT (Hockey Ultimate Team) and World of CHEL modes, unlocking new players and content that celebrate the NHL and its stars.
Season 1 - Built Different
Kicking off the fun is Season 1, titled Built Different. Hockey fans know that the sport and its players are truly unique, and this theme aims to capture that spirit. As the NHL regular season begins, so does your chance to build your team and establish your legacy on the ice.
HUT Progression Path
In HUT, Season 1 introduces a progression path where players can collect enough XP to unlock six new players throughout the season. The journey starts with five players boasting an 80 OVR, with some upgradeable to 85 OVR. At level 60, you'll unlock Jack Eichel, a powerful player with an 87 OVR.
HUT Live Events Schedule
- Cover Athletes (Oct. 4): Celebrate past cover stars of the EA SPORTS NHL series with high OVR player cards.
- Fantasy Hockey (Oct. 18): Player cards that grow in OVR based on real-life performance.
- Supernatural (Oct. 18): Spooky-themed event showcasing players with "supernatural" abilities.
- Off the Charts (Nov. 1): Focuses on hockey legends known for their famous nicknames.
- Next Gen (Nov. 15): Celebrating the rookies of the 2024-25 NHL season and former Calder Trophy winners.
World of CHEL - Season 1 Battle Pass
The World of CHEL gets even more exciting with a new Battle Pass featuring over 90 rewards across 75 levels. Complete the Battle Pass to unlock the NHL 94 Rewind Vanity Set for a nostalgic flair.
NHL 94 Rewind Live Event
From October 4 - 7, take part in the NHL 94 Rewind Live Event—a throwback experience inspired by the classic NHL 94. Relive the old-school action with pixelated graphics, disabled fatigue, and endless fun!
New Characters
In celebration of the spooky season, two new characters make their debut in World of CHEL:
- Agent Blueline: An offensive defenseman who can score and defend with authority.
- Sudden Death: A hulking enforcer who dominates the corners and uses his body to stop opponents in their tracks.
Power Play Week (Oct. 4 - 14)
For a limited time, players who log into NHL 25 during Power Play Week can receive a HUT Cover Athlete Players Choice Pack featuring an 83 OVR Surprise Cover Athlete. Complete time-sensitive objectives with your Cover Athlete to unlock exclusive rewards.
