New Weapons, New Map, New Factions | XDefiant Season 2 Revealed!
XDefiant Season 2 is bringing a fresh wave of content and exciting changes when it launches on September 25, 2024. Here’s a breakdown of the biggest updates coming your way:
1. New Faction: The Highwaymen
Inspired by Far Cry: New Dawn's post-apocalyptic world, the Highwaymen are joining the fray. Known for their chaotic, high-damage combat style, their passive ability, Revved, boosts fire and reload speed with consecutive kills. They bring powerful abilities, such as:
- M79 Grenade Launcher: Devastates enemies or enemy abilities, but with only two shots before cooldown.
- Scrap Turret: A makeshift turret providing 360-degree coverage.
- Ultra: Saw Launcher: Fires ricocheting buzzsaws, perfect for dominating close-quarter combat.
2. New Weapons
Three new weapons will be unlockable through the Battle Pass:
- PP19 SMG: Prioritizes damage and accuracy, with a large magazine and excellent headshot damage.
- L86 LSW: A hybrid between AR and LMG, this fast-firing weapon excels at mid-range with a rapid time-to-kill.
- SPAS-12 Shotgun: A semi-automatic shotgun that can one-shot kill or quickly follow up with a second shot for the finish.
3. New Game Mode: Bomb
A tactical arena-style mode where attackers plant a bomb, and defenders try to stop or defuse it. With no respawns and an emphasis on strategy, Bomb requires precise teamwork. Factions are locked in once you fill your Ultra meter, adding a new layer of strategic planning. The first team to win six rounds claims victory.
4. Private Matches
Later in the season, players can create custom games with friends using private matches. Customize the game by selecting the map, mode, and player count for standard 6v6 matches or even smaller formats like 1v1 or 3v3.
5. New Maps
- Waterfront: Available at launch, this expansive map set in a post-apocalyptic version of Hope County, Montana, caters to long- and medium-range combat.
- Signal and Air & Space: Two additional maps that will be released later in the season.
