Keep the Heroes Out! Smashes Kickstarter Goal and Prepares for Digital Launch
The beloved board game Keep the Heroes Out! is making its digital debut. The Kickstarter campaign for the video game adaptation crushed its funding goal, raising a whopping $224,556 against an initial $10,000 target.
Developed by Brueh Games and YarnCat Games, this asymmetric cooperative dungeon defense game flips the traditional hero narrative on its head. You play as monsters defending treasures from adventurers trying to steal your hard-earned loot. In this unique twist of gameplay; you're protecting the dungeon instead of raiding it.
The digital version promises to be a faithful translation of the award-winning board game, with enhanced visuals and a helpful tutorial for newcomers. Players can enjoy solo play against AI or team up remotely with friends, making monster defense more accessible.
With the original board game already a massive hit—selling over 70,000 copies and earning a Golden Geek Best Cooperative Game nomination—the digital adaptation is poised to win even more fans. Fans can look forward to the PC, Mac, and console release in early 2025.
Get ready to turn the tables on those so-called "heroes" and show them who runs the dungeon!
