Groovin’ Through the Holidays: Just Dance 2025 Brings the Family Together (Review)

Just Dance 2025 released on October 15, 2024, and I recently had the opportunity to dive into the game for a few hours after a hearty Thanksgiving lunch. It turned out to be the perfect way to work off some of those big meal calories while having an absolute blast with family.

One of the first things that struck me was the impressive lineup of 40 new songs. The game features a diverse selection, including chart-toppers like “Unstoppable” by Sia and “Poker Face” by Lady Gaga, with a wide variety in-between ensuring that there’s something for everyone, regardless of musical taste. As we danced around the living room, it was heartwarming to see family members of all ages—kids, parents, and even grandparents—getting into the groove. The infectious energy of the music made it impossible not to smile!

The Workout Mode is a standout feature that really enhances the experience. It allows players to track calories burned while dancing, which felt especially rewarding after indulging in a festive meal. I found myself checking the stats between songs, motivated by the idea of turning our fun into a mini workout session. It’s an excellent way to incorporate fitness into your routine without it feeling like a chore.

Another highlight is the one-month free trial of Just Dance+ that Ubisoft offers. This feature opens up access to an extensive library of songs, making it easy to keep things fresh and exciting. After our initial play session, we eagerly explored additional tracks, which kept us engaged for hours. The variety ensured that no two dance sessions felt the same.

If you've played a previous Just Dance game, you know the intuitive controls make it easy for everyone to join in on the fun. Even those who weren’t familiar with rhythm game found themselves quickly picking up the moves and enjoying the experience - even gramma can groove with this game. The colorful graphics and lively animations added to the overall atmosphere, creating a familiar and inviting environment that encouraged participation.

As we danced our hearts out, laughter filled the room, and it became clear that Just Dance 2025 is more than just a game; it’s a fantastic way to bring people together. Whether you’re hosting a dance party or simply looking for a fun way to unwind after a long day, this game delivers joy and excitement.

While I did play the game with the family, I also know that I will get a ton of good use out of this game solo. The workout mode is definitely a huge benefit in helping with daily movement as well.

In summary, Just Dance 2025 promises to be an excellent addition for families, solo, and friends alike. For its ability to unite players through dance and entertainment while also providing a fun workout experience, I would give it an 8.5/10.
