Death Stranding Director’s Cut Comes to Xbox
A milestone for Death Stranding fans happened as the Director’s Cut arrives on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC as an Xbox Play Anywhere title! To celebrate, Kojima Productions and 505 Games are inviting all Porters to explore unique ways to connect with the Death Stranding community. Here are five incredible ways to deepen your connection with the world of Death Stranding and your fellow players in 2024.
Social Strand System – Support Fellow Porters
In Death Stranding, the Social Strand System allows you to help other players by leaving tools, warnings, and structures they can use, even though you’ll never encounter them directly. Each bridge, ladder, and sign could be just what a fellow Porter needs to complete their journey. Don’t forget to leave a ‘Like’ if you come across something helpful—each “thank you” strengthens the bond among players.
Monthly Virtual Photography Events – Share Your Creativity
Unlock your inner artist with Death Stranding Director’s Cut’s advanced photo mode! Kojima Productions is hosting monthly themed photography challenges for players to capture their favourite in-game moments. Winners will have their photos featured in the 2025 Kojima Productions calendar, which they’ll receive as a prize. Use #DSPhotoModeXbox on X or Instagram to share your best shots, and join the monthly events for a chance to be showcased.
Death Stranding Community Showcases – Show Off Your Skills
Cosplayers, illustrators, and virtual photographers, it’s time to shine! Each month, Kojima Productions curates fan art, cosplay, and photography submissions for their Community Showcase video, shared across social media. Submit your artwork on the 505 Games website for a chance to be featured and celebrated within the community.
In-Person Events – Connect in the Real World
Meet the Death Stranding team and fans in person at special events! To commemorate the game’s 5th anniversary, Kojima Productions is hosting the “Death Stranding 5th Anniversary Exhibition & Popup” with Parco in Japan, featuring rare production archives and a photo area with Kojima Productions’ mascot, Ludens. The exhibit opens November 8 at Shibuya Parco, with plans to travel to Nagoya and Shinsaibashi Parco in early 2025.
