Dead by Daylight’s Steady Pulse Update Introduces EMT Survivor Orela Rose and Revamps Progression System

Behaviour Interactive has introduced Steady Pulse, the latest update for Dead by Daylight. It features Orela Rose, a new Survivor with a background as an EMT and a strong commitment to saving lives. Officially releasing on May 6, 2025, this update not only brings Orela into the game but also revamps the progression system to enhance player experience.

Orela Rose's story is one of resilience and dedication. After the tragic loss of her best friend Emily—who died in an accident at a haunted house—Orela shifted her focus to emergency medical services. She later honored Emily's memory by launching Screams in the Dark, a horror-themed dining experience. Orela acts as a supporting character with advantages that enable the healing of the teammates quickly, absorbing protective blows, and receiving vital knowledge that helps the team survive. She is also reported to be a soothing presence amidst The Entity's Trials' chaos.

In addition to the launch of Orela, the Archives system in Dead by Daylight has been redesigned and rebranded as The Rift. The patch supplants the old Challenges with concurring Quests such as Daily, Weekly, Milestone, and Event tasks, enabling the completion of several objectives without advance pre-qualification. A new "pin" option allows monitoring a chosen Quest within a trial, making progress more straightforward and more accessible to reward points.

The Steady Pulse patch also introduces gameplay adjustments for better balance and accessibility. These vary from haste and disabled effect stacking limitations to perk modifications such as Pentimento to new mechanics to discourage unhook spam and enhance skill-check mechanics, all in the interest of delivering a smoother, more even experience to everybody.

The new update reflects Behaviour's commitment to combining in-depth storytelling with impactful gameplay improvements, thrilling seasoned gamers and new fans of Dead by Daylight alike.
