Dead by Daylight's 2v8 Mode Makes a Return with Exciting Updates

Canadian horror game Dead by Daylight is returning its most anticipated 2v8 game mode this year. Running from November 12, 2024, through November 26, 2024, this time brings many new features and improvements to make the experience even more thrilling than ever for players.

New Content

Increased Killer Roster
Three new Killers are added to the 2v8 mode: The Blight, The Spirit, and The Deathslinger. They join the existing ones, which already form part of the game. These are The Trapper, The Wraith, The Hillbilly, The Nurse, and The Huntress, offering a great deal of flexibility in how teams can be composed.

Additional Maps
New maps join the roster with areas from Yamaoka Estate and Grave of Glendale realms—open new environments to explore and strategize within.

Gameplay Enhancements

Survivor Updates
Trying to balance the dual Killer threat, Survivors have gotten some significant upgrades:

  • Active Abilities - Each Survivor class will now have two different active abilities that charge overtime.
  • Improved Unlock Abilities: Once downed into a Cage, Survivors unlock a special Perk related to their class.

New Killer Classes
Killers will have four new classes to choose from, each with different kinds of perks that are advantages in their own right:

  • Shadow
  • Brute
  • Enforcer
  • Fearmonger

These will enable Killers to play how they want and perform better in team play.

Developer Insights
Justin Brown, Product Director for Dead by Daylight, underscored the team is commitment to a fast cadence of iteration, informed by player feedback. The goal here is to keep the mode fresh and current relative to community desires.

That this 2v8 mode would return so full of significant updates speaks volumes of Dead by Daylight's commitment to evolutionary gameplay and keeping players interested in their game. As it happens, once this mode keeps changing, fans are in store for even more thrilling changes much later on in its development cycle.
