Dead by Daylight Unleashes Chaos: Lara Croft, 2v8 Mode, and Cross-Progression Incoming
This month, Dead by Daylight introduces significant updates, including the arrival of Lara Croft, the implementation of Cross-Progression, and the debut of the new 2v8 Game Mode. These additions promise an exciting summer for the game's community, with significant content releases and news following the 8th Anniversary Broadcast. The release date and pre-order details for "The Casting of Frank Stone" have also been announced.
Players can now step into the boots of Lara Croft, the ultimate survivor, as she navigates The Fog in Dead by Daylight. This Tomb Raider collaboration brings three new Perks: Finesse, Hardened, and Specialist, each reflecting her athleticism, adventurous spirit, and archaeological prowess. This new Survivor character is available through the Dead by Daylight: Tomb Raider Chapter, enhancing gameplay with her unique abilities.
On July 25th, the highly anticipated 2v8 Game Mode will launch, offering a new dynamic where two Killers hunt eight Survivors. This mode introduces chaos and fast-paced action on five expanded classic maps. Survivors must repair eight out of thirteen generators to escape, and traditional hooks and perks are replaced with Cages and a class system to promote teamwork. Killers receive alterations to their Powers, adding a team-based ability to increase their threat.
Cross-progression will be available starting July 22nd, allowing players to synchronize their progress and purchases across multiple platforms. This feature, long requested by the community, requires a Behaviour Account and ownership of the base game on the chosen platforms. Dead by Daylight's website and social channels will provide a "How-To" video, a platform-specific chart, and a detailed FAQ to assist players with the setup process.
"The Casting of Frank Stone," a collaboration between Supermassive Games and Behaviour Interactive, will be released on September 3rd, 2024. This single-player cinematic game delves into Dead by Daylight's lore, featuring a disturbing narrative centered around the urban myth of the "Murder Mill" horror film. Pre-orders for the Standard and Deluxe Editions are now open, and the latest trailer is available for viewing, offering a glimpse into this eerie new chapter.
