Dauntless: Awakening Arrives December 5 is now on Steam

The highly anticipated Dauntless: Awakening update launches December 5, marking the game’s debut on Steam and introducing a host of transformative changes. Featuring crossplay and cross-progression powered by Epic accounts, Dauntless continues its tradition of welcoming Slayers to the hunt across all platforms.

If you’re eager to dive in, here’s everything you need to know about what’s changing with Awakening.

Key Features of Dauntless: Awakening

Steam Launch: Wishlist on Steam to support the game and get ready for crossplay and cross-progression with Epic, console, and now Steam players.
Major Overhaul: Awakening is a ground-up transformation of Dauntless, including new weapons, levelling systems, quests, and progression mechanics.

What’s New?

Weapons

Returning Favorites: Weapons like The Godhand and The Hunger remain in the game. If already owned, they start at Level 10 if power surges, otherwise Level 1.
Weapon Levels: All weapons now feature a levelling system up to Level 60, with Talent unlocks.
New Weapon Tokens: Players earn tokens to unlock new weapons, based on previously owned weapons.

Armour

Existing gameplay armour remains, now levelling up to Level 20. Previously power-surged armor will start at Level 10.
Exotic helms become transmogs, and all Transmog Stones spent will be refunded.

Lanterns

Gameplay lanterns are being retired, with effects moved to weapons. Players will receive a basic customizable lantern and transmogs for previously crafted lanterns.

Hunt Pass Changes

Vault and Event Passes are retired in favour of a single season-based Hunt Pass. Remaining Vault and Event Passes will auto-complete, but rewards must be claimed manually.

Cells and Perks

Several Cells are being removed, with replacements provided as Cell Cores containing random drops. The remaining Cells will be standardized to +1 for simplified progression.

Quest System Revamp

All players, new and legacy, will start fresh with the main questline to introduce new systems. No items or progress (beyond reforges) will be lost.

Middleman Departure

The Middleman’s Cell cooking system is being retired. Players with premium slots will receive 25 Patrol Keys per slot as compensation.

Cosmetics and Currencies

Premium cosmetics remain untouched, while Aetherdust, Aethersparks, and other currencies are being retired—use them before the update!

Prepare for the Update

Downtime: Scheduled downtime begins December 3 at 10 AM PT. Finish any remaining season goals or reforges by then.
Exclusive Crowns: Earn the Crest of the Reforged or Crest of the Committed Crowns before the update by reforging your weapons.
