AutoExec Games Launches TimeMelters 1.0 on Steam: A Time-Twisting Adventure
Canadian independent developer AutoExec Games, comprising a team of three passionate individuals inspired by classic games and innovative gameplay, has launched TimeMelters 1.0 on PC via Steam. This award-winning strategy and hero defence hybrid game will also make its way to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X later this year.
TimeMelters, the Grand Winner at the Ubisoft Indie Contest 2022, Gold Winner of Best Indie Game at NYX 2023, and winner of the Technological Innovation Award at MIGS 2023, introduces a unique time-shifting mechanic. Players can rewind the clock and fight alongside their past selves to prevent doomsday after it’s already happened. The game offers a blend of strategic planning and real-time action, allowing players to explore co-op mechanics while playing solo or teaming up with a friend using the Friend Pass feature, requiring only one copy of the game.
In TimeMelters 1.0, players can experience revamped missions with spellbinding abilities, solve puzzles, defeat bosses, and defend territories while gradually enhancing their magic with a skill tree. The game features 40 mind-bending challenges and a speedrun mode to top the leaderboards. The launch trailer showcases the game's enchanting world and gameplay, inviting players to harness the hourglass before time slips.
Vincent Blanchard, CEO at AutoExec Games, shared his inspiration behind the studio's name and the development of TimeMelters: “Our studio was named after the sense of marvel we felt after sinking into classics like Diablo and King’s Quest for the first time. These were titles that revolutionized entire genres with their fresh, captivating gameplay. We crafted TimeMelters over five years to recapture the same awe we experienced way back then and offer veteran gamers something new, challenging, and fun to chew on."
Key Features of TimeMelters include the Time Distortion Mechanic, allowing players to manipulate time to their advantage; an Online Cooperative Campaign with a Friend Pass feature; Varied Gameplay Phases blending planning, action, and role-playing elements; Time Manipulation to rewind time and strategize with past selves; and an Intriguing Narrative set in a dark era of witchcraft and mystery.
