Astro Bot Fans Rejoice: New Speedrun Levels and Special Bots Arrive This October!
Team Asobi has a surprise in store for Astro Bot fans, and it’s the perfect gift for speedrunners and platforming pros! Following overwhelming player feedback, Team Asobi announced that new speedrun levels are coming to Astro Bot starting October 17, and the best part? They’re free!
Astro Bot’s Speedrun Extravaganza Begins
Players will get their first taste of the action with Building Speed, the first of five new speedrun levels. Set in a sky-high city, you’ll need to dodge cranes, smash crates, and even zoom through a flying car wash—all with the help of Barkster, the bulldog booster, to rescue your crew. The level will also introduce an online leaderboard, allowing you to compete with your PlayStation friends and show off your platforming prowess.
Every week until mid-November, a fresh speedrun challenge will drop, so players will have plenty of chances to perfect their skills. Here’s the full release schedule:
- October 17: Building Speed
- October 24: Let it Slide
- October 31: Spring-loaded Run
- November 7: Helium Heights
- November 14: Rising Heat
All updates will be released on Thursdays at 6:00 am PT, 2:00 pm BST, and 10:00 pm JST.
Rescue 10 New Special Bots Along the Way
Alongside these thrilling levels, players can look forward to rescuing two new Special Bots in each stage, bringing the total to 10 new beloved characters. While you’ve already met Eve from Stellar Blade and a bot from Helldivers, the rest of the crew remains a mystery—so you’ll have to jump in and find out for yourself!
