A gamescom 2023 Opening Night Roundup
A TLDR of what games were talked about at gamescom Opening Night Live.
Gamescom 2023 aired August 22, 2023 at 2pm EST. Running roughly 2 hours, the show hosted by Geoff Keighley had a plethora of gaming news, announcements, and even an on-stage interruption for us to enjoy. While there were MANY games announced, most of us were here for the heavy hitters of the night; Mortal Kombat 1, Assassin's Creed Mirage, and last but not least Alan Wake 2.
If you missed the live broadcast and just want the TLDR, I got you covered.
Special Highlights:
- Show opened with a lovely piano performance by Inon Zur who did a rendition of the Starfield theme.
- Not even 10 minutes in to the broadcast, hecklers rushed the stage calling for a GTA 6 announcement. Keighley played it off very professionally and kept the event rolling.
